Just picked this up today, has the magazine link loop spreader so is for the Mk1 SMLE.

I would say...starting from the top left, the pointy thing is to remove the extractor spring.
Top right would be to unscrew the volley sight screw.
Middle right is a screwdriver...duhh...
Bottom right, for the bayonet screws possibly ?
Bottom left, a screwdriver and the notches is what i'm assuming his the link spreader 5THBATH is talking about.
Middle left is another screwdriver.... duhh again
The 3 notches in the middle are gauges, the one on the far right should be the firing pin protrusion gauge.

I think.......

Bottom right is for the bayonet locking latch, far to big for the screws.
Bottom left two notches, correct, spreader for link
3 notches middle are min & max firing pin protrusion & the right one is firing pin radius

I was close ;)
If i recall right, i think i once read somewhere it was carried in the soldiers kit... not sure if each soldier had one though.... if they did more should be around no ?
The butt trap was only for the oiler and pull through.

This is why i love the SMLE, Mk III and earlier models.... even the tools where ''###y'', care was taken in making them.
