Hello fellow collectors, can someone please tell me where I can purchase an authentic Early Vietnam War (late 60s) M16A1 sling? I believe these were canvas in colour, with seatbelt like texture? I looked online but came up short, hoping if you guys can give me some pointers? Thanks in advance!

There was a few styles floating around for those years, with the M14 and M16 using the same ones.
Cotton webbing is the most common, there are also the fabled seatbelt nylon slings aswell, which were introduced to avoid rotting in the jungle. Both are the same pattern with a buckle at one end and a crimped metal cover at the other end. I've got the seatbelt sling aswell, it's on a Benelli right now.

You could always ditch the sling, remove the sling swivels and all it a reproduction LRRP rifle.
Hi Gunnerlove, that’s a great idea, but at the moment I’m putting together a USMC Tet Offensive Marine impression.
For that timeframe, standard cotton sling is most common.

There's a huge Army Surplus store in Idaho Falls, ID. I think they might have what you're looking for.
