Early xmas present

I just bought myself a 340 Weatherby Mark V. I need suggestions for a scope on this bad boy as I don't want to experience the Weatherby Kiss lol. I was thinking about a Leupold VX3 4.5-14. I just ordered brass for it from Cabelas. About $96 for 20 new brass with tax and shipping. I guess if I want a top fueller I need to pay the price. I am using it for shooting at the range. Ya I'm nuts!!

I would check eye relief in the specs. Look for 4 inches or more. In my case the vx3 I was looking at was 3.9 inches, Nixon monarch was 4.1 inches if I remember correctly. Sources I researched said with .300 weatherby at least 4" or suffer the "eye". Hope it helps

I have a leupy Viii 3.3-10x50 on my sako 340. Has not bit me yet and a can shoot it prone

4 inch eye relief should do it.

Edit: May have to put caliber in the post title to get him to chime in...
