I've read through all the 10/22 tips and tricks section, but what would be the most effective/easiest/cheapest trigger mod for the 10/22 ? I don't want to mess with changing any angles or anything major. My rifle is a International 10/22 made in 1995 I believe, that I just changed out into a Hogue stock. The trigger looks unmodified but seems pretty good. I don't have a trigger guage so I've no idea where it sits now.

Agreed. Target hammer is probably the best and most cost effective upgrade for a 10/22.

Hical is also a great company to deal with.

Why not fiddle with polishing the hammer and sear and if you screw up then order the parts ? My first trigger job had me nervous but turned out awesome ! It's just time consuming !

Polishing alone doesn't do a whole lot to change the weight of the pull, although it may feel that way as it does smooth it out quite a bit.

The hammer mod is a simple drop in, and then doing the polishing on top of that really does make a big difference.

Sorry I meant to say you have to sand / dremmel it first ! But there's nothing to lose if he's going to try and modify it any ways ! Even though I did mine I'm still considering a kidd drop in trigger kit !

$50 for a hammer kit and some polishing sounds fairly easy. I'm a bit disappointed with this project. I bought a Hogue stock from cabelas. The picture on their web site shows the stock with a bull barrel in it. I guess I missed the bit about fits standard barrel at the bottom. Now I'm stuck with it unless I can find someone that wants one.

got to go,
If you want the best trigger possible and you are fairly handy PM me your email and I'll send you some files on how to modify your stock components. You can easily get a 1.5-2# crisp, clean trigger. If you were a little closer to me I could show you how well it works.

Why not post them ?

Because they are big files with pictures etc, screen shots from RFC so I don't know the legalities either. If anybody wants them just send me a PM with your email and I'll send them right off to you, that's how I got them in the first place, from a member of RFC, with a promise to keep sending them on.
