Easiest Semi-Auto to Field Strip?????

you don't need to do anything on the 92 other than push the button and turn the lever. on the sig you have to rack the slide to the rear and lock it back and then you turn the lever. as well on a lot of Sigs that lever is a PITA to turn.

I can take my K100 apart about as fast as a Beretta but it definately requires more finger power as well as practice, so the Beretta get the nod.

looking at the 92 there is one step more then the p226
Nope, there is one more step with a P226 - locking the slide back. With a 92FS you start with a closed slide (so you doin't even touch the slide release). Also as slavex mentioned the lever on the Sig is a lot harder to turn.

M&P works just like the Sig; only you have to reach in the ejection port with a finger and lower the lever on the frame, the other staps are identical.

I don't know about "easiest" but I will chime in about "best".

The Browning HP is far and away the best pistol to field strip. You must rack the slide back to a position to engage the safety to strip it. The very operation of stripping the pistol forces you to make the pistol safe and unloaded to take it apart.

No they are not. M&P also includes a take-down tool in the grip to trip the sear foot (?) yellow paper clippy thing in the mag well. You cannot take down an M&P without doing that, if you have thicker fingers.

The 'take-down tool' is a joke, they should've never named it that;

The only time you *have* to remove it is when you're changing the backstraps. If you can't use your finger to lower the lever use something else (pen, key, etc). IIRC you can pull the trigger instead. (never done it myself) but I heard it may demage the gun.

1911A1 hands down

The rest are all wussy guns

:D

;)

I prefer the Sig system...Glock is fast, Beretta is fast too...But Sig is simple to deal with in the field...empty mag...lock slide...drop mag...turn lever...take apart.

S&W 5946 is pretty easy for take down. slide back and push out the one pin and it's apart. Taking out the firing pin is also relatively easy. That's the one thing I like compared to the others. I can clean the firing pin, inspect it etc fairly easily.

Probably not the best take down, but pretty good.

1911 GI's are taught to do it in the complete dark

1911 GI's can actually be readily 'detail stripped' and reassembled in the dark...

I own the Steyr M-A1, CZ 75, Beretta 90-TWO, Glock 17, M&P, XD,Baby Eagle, all of which are easy to strip. The Steyr and Beretta are the same in takedown.
