Easiest to Load Shotgun

Exactly what Forbes/hutton mentioned, and if you have a single shot or double with extractors well then! Thats the only way it gets easier!

If your asking about pumps? well I find people pick up on a side eject faster oppose to a bottom eject such as a Ithaca. (I sure do love my Ithaca though!)

Semi autos are pretty simple aswell again some people have troubles with the shell latch, while loading them. After you have inserted your ammo, you pull back the action.

I also find people who I take out who are new, always want to insert the cartridge in a chamber first instead of the tubular magazine, I always sit their and explain to them once I can tell they are super comfortable with loading and un loading, and are responsible enough with their muzzle direction, and fingers always off the trigger. Then I will show them how to load tactically or directly in to the chamber. No way am I going to let a first time shooter sit their and load directly in to the chamber.

I have a 590 and a 870 copy, the 590 it a bit easier to load than a 870, but the Benelli is even easier to load with its larger loading port and smooth rounded edges.

I thought the Browning Gold had the easiest and fastest

Speed Loading
Speed Loading is exclusive to Browning. With the action open, the first shell inserted into the magazine is sent directly to the chamber, ready to be fired. Subsequent shells are loaded into the magazine

Browning Auto 5 by far. Drop in shell, push button and shoot!

With my twelve light, if the bolt is left back (and tube empty) and i stuff a shell in through the bottom it will pick up the shell and chamber it without even having to press the button. Scared the s**t outa me the first time i loaded it with the bolt back!
Probably easier than having to put it in the side, hope you dont lean the gun sideways, and press the button.

But I would also have to agree that my grizz mag is the simplest and fastest if you want to load multiple rounds in a short period.
The time it takes to load one round in a tube fed is all it takes to shove the magazine with 5 rounds into the gun.

Unless a singleshot/break open will work for ya, then that would probably be the simplest.

...does it matter? If you have a hard time loading any shotgun there is something wrong....

He could be thinking for his wife, or that kinda idea.

Not being a 'shotgun-guy' by any means I was pleasantly surprised at the new Benelli pump gun I tried not to long ago. Idiot proof. (Well maybe a true blue idiot shouldn't be given a shotgun...) Toss the first shell in the side and so long as its pointing generally in the right direction it'll 'seek its own position'. Very slick, fast, and easy. The remainder of the tube was easy as well- Unlike some old Remingtons I own that demand a little more effort. I was very impressed by the Benelli... and it was by no means one of their higher end guns.
