Easiest way to build a 7.62x39?

Here is mine:

A Rem 788 with an old 308 match barrel re-chambered to 7.72x39. Has a long throat to accommodate match 155 gr bullets and to take milsurp. I use it mostly to test various lots of milsurp ammo.

If I was going to use a Lee Enfield, I would re-chamber it to 7.62x54. A very similar cartridge to the 303.

If I was buiding another 6.62x39 rifle, i would use the Savage action, and old 308 match barrel (with chamber cut off and re-chambered) and a Savage 7.62x39 bolt head.

I have a spare bolt head on the way.

Anyone got the bore size of the Ruger barrels they used for their .303 Brit Number 1's?

I had read that they were using a .308 barrel on their Mini-30.

You can always steal the idea of a long leade, from Weatherby, to keep the pressures down, if they make you nervous, but like as not, the barrel bore size of whatever gets used, is going to work (ie: any of the .30's)

Cheers
