Easily Influenced

I've never had anything to do with the conversions.... so far. So this is really good info for me.

There's certainly room in the frame for a 1.65'ish size cylinder but much more and fitting of the hand would become a problem. In fact I dare say that with the size difference quick swapping from cap and ball to conversion and back likely is not possible due to the fitment of the hand and how the height of the hand will affect the internal timing of the action. So it's one or the other at a time.

Do you guys figure that is the case as well?

Kirst and Taylor/R&D conversion cylinders kits are U.S. made for blackpowder replicas, so they are drop in (but specific to the receiving brand: Pietta or Uberti).

I might have had the wrong idea about the whole gun made by Uberti, and would be interested in knowing how different it is from their regular BP one. A gun writer thought that it would come with dual cylinders but I haven't seen this confirmed.
So dimensions? Angled chambers or not?

Put a Taylor 45 colt conversion on my 1860 Pieta Sheriff. Groups great, but shoots about 8" high.
Attempted to make a new front sight for it, but that experiment was a dismal failure.

Was all keen to get a 36cal open top and add a convertor until I realized the conversion is for 38 colt and not 38 spl.
