Eastern Ontario CGN meet...what do you think?

if its a saturday night i am down to have a few beers. work will prevent most of us from making the trip during the week I think. Maybe you guys should come to ottawa!! ;)

Count me in.
Who wants to car pool from Trenton?

I'd be up for that, if we can't make Trenton the location. Lower Trent Valley Fish and Game Club is cheap for visitors ($5 to cover insurance), and I'm sure myself and a few other members could "supervise" the guests until the food and beverage part of the meet.

No offense... but what is this meet for? If it is just to say "Hi Everyone from CGN", and then eat, drink and be merry, then I will take this opportunity to say "Hi Everyone from CGN!!!" and will shortly go take a gander at what is left over in the fridge. I have been to too many of these meetings with the hope that they were going to accomplish something only to have it turn into a chat about a certain truck or something. It is hard enough to get gun owners together to do anything of consequence with regards to pushing back the government and reclaiming our lost firearms rights. If this meetings primary purpose is to discuss ways to repeal the firearms act and lay the ground work for FED UP III, then I am in, and I can get a bunch of serious gun owners to come who have experience in fighting these issues. Sorry to be a killjoy, but like my name says "When you have to shoot... shoot. Don't talk.".

There was a vote at the AGM about it 2 years ago, and all the legal paperwork was put through shortly after that. It was both an opportunity to reflect that we encourage all types of shooting, not just handgun (we allow bows on the ranges too!) and it was also a chance to change the legal structure of the club -- the change brought a few 'backend' changes w.r.t. the club's constitution, etc (mostly modernizing the financial and legal stuff to bring it up to today's standards, since the constitution hadn't been changed since the club founded).

Thanks for the information. We (Frontenac Rifle and Pistol Club) just amended our Constitution a couple years ago as well, and will probably have to again when the new Ontario Not-for-profit Corporations Act comes into effect.

ODDAWA, centre of the known universe, home to all sorts of mystical creatures like honest politicians and hard-working civil servants, The City That Fun Forgot, the home of countless <ahem> hard-working Senators of the non-NHL variety, but also home to the hapless collection of highly paid gladiators who go by the same name who play hockey a few hours a year for zillions of dollars per paid minute; ah yes, Oddawa, the National Capital Region that never saw a pork trough it did not like, a bottomless money pit for taxpayers from across the country, a place to inspire the feckless CGNers who want to gather in the shadow of the Parliament Buildings to show off their Daisy Red Ryders and other treasures.................

Right.

I think the OP said KINGSTON, not OTTAWA. If the NCR crowd want to have a love-in, have at 'er folks, but that does not APPEAR to be the intent of this thread.

Seriously, Ottawa????????????

Nah, let's look at Kingston, home to more jails per capita than any other Canadian city! And yes I am interested and can lend some help to arrange. A shoot at the FRPC is really highly unlikely, given all of the red tape. (And yes, I was formerly on the Board at the club so I have a bit of knowledge about it.)

You are correct, and that someone is called Sploink................:)

Here is your word for the day: "SATIRE" and (from the Merriam Webster online dictionary) a meaning:

"a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, etc. : humor that shows the weaknesses or bad qualities of a person, government, society, etc"

No need to thank me, it is a public service.
