Eastwood powder coating

I've had trouble with Princess Auto red.
I'd buy some tried and true Tool Blue, Tractor Red (I believe) and clear. A couple of pounds of each will do a long time.
$25 for shipping will be a small bite over the long run. With Emerald, you'll get it in a day or two.

More like 2 lifetimes . A small amount of powder will do a lot of slugs, a pound will easily do 10,000 pieces. For this reason I recommend buying 1/2 lb. of each color you desire as if you run into a humidity or some other moisture problem you have only a small amount that is caked into a lump. I have ordered !/2 lb allotments from Emerald a few years ago and I think KMS sells Eastwood in 1/2 lb bottles.

Another tip I will pass on for small amounts of powder is to visit any commercial powder coaters close to you and just ask for any color overruns that they may be going to through out...you might not get the specific colors you want all the time but I have walked out the door with powder that didn't cost a cent to me ( on time I was given a full paint can of JD Yellow that he thought he would never use again...it works good & I've got enough for 10 lifetimes).

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the pigments but certain colours don't seem to adhere as well as others. The blue, red, gloss black & clear coat tend to coat very well with the swirl method. I have had much less luck with green and yellow. They are probably fine with a powder coating gun but not so much with the shake & bake method.
