Easy Enfield assembly question

I had one of my Enfields, a No4 mk1/2 apart for a good cleaning and inspection, bedding ect.. Went back together great till I reached the barrel bands. Which direction do the screws go in from? Screw head on the left, or on the right?

Head on left side.

Not really but all the No4's were assembled on the left side. That is why all of the heads of the screws are on the left side.

I think it looks cleaner all on one side.

Of course it does. The respondent torque from the twist influencer near the non-aligned wing-ding can cause uncontrolled mistangling in the recesses.

Well, actually, no it doesn't matter other than the army likes to keep things uniform. That way they can tear strips off new privates who can't remember the thousand little details like this.
