Hey Guys,
I'm still kinda new to reloading and have been using once or twice fired brass for my .284 Win. I just bought some factory brass and took some out to inspect it and found the necks to be slightly non-uniform. Seems like the odd one has a minor 'curve' or 'dent' in it and I'm wondering if this is common with factory brass.
My question....do you have to run the factory brass through a sizing die before you load them or can you load them directly? I'm sure I could find an answer in one of my manuals, but its always so quick on here to get the right answer.
I appreciate any help.....

With new brass I like to:

1. full length resize-mainly to get rid of dents and dings in the case mouth.

2. trim to length. If nothing else, this squares up the case mouth

3. chamfer the cases mouths to get rid of trimming burrs and make bullet seating easier.

I know it costs more but I bought a batch of Norma brass for my 375 hh, beautiful stuff and as for length, room to grow and very consistent.
