It happens every once in a while.

I swore I would never own a WSM. But I have relented (thanks to a trade with another nice board member) and now own a LH Model 70 7mm WSM. What do you know but that it feeds slick, even empties for heavens sake!

A McMillan EDGE and new bottom metal should arrive in a weeks time which should put this thing 3 ozs over 7lbs scoped and some gunsmith might cut an inch off the barrel as well. Should be a slick do everything hunting rig.

That's gonna be nice! Look forward to an range report and photos of the finished rifle.

I'd own a 7WSM. I've got nothing against the WSMs, but the 7 is the only one that interests me.

Damn !!!! I thought there would be a recipe on this thread on how to cook up those scuzzy varmints into a tasty dish..............I am truly disappointed !!!

They serve it in Wonowon, tastes great. Do you drive that far south?

I can't understand why the .270 WSM is more popular than the 7 WSM, far better selection of bullets to choose from, nice find!

I had a Ruger in .300WSM that fed slicker than snot on a doorknob.
According to the intranets I was the only man in the world to own a Wizzum that was reliable. Now I feel less lonely knowing there are two of us! :p Run out and buy a lottery ticket.

Very nice looking Model 70 BTW.

That expression brought back memories. The last time I remember hearing it was from my instructor at trade school in Vancouver, about 1980.

Cheers

Never owned a WSM either. That said, if I were I'd have to go with the 7mm WSM, too.

Even though it's kinda a distant 3rd cousin to the 300 & 270 these days.

And.... being a lefty, too still can't bring myself to own a left handed bolt rifle, though.

OP.... a very nice rifle just the same!

NAA.

It's alive and well here but has evolved to sh!t on a doorknob.

As for the WSMs in general, I too will consider eating corvid in the future, a .300 for this guy. The 7mm WSM has a short neck compared to the others to preclude it from being chambered in a .270 WSM. While short necks clearly work, as a handloader I prefer a longer neck.

NAA, I too am a "reformed" lefty, shooting right my whole life as that's the way the guns first given to me were made.

Ha! I stole that one from my Pop. He's pushing 70 and his generation had some of the best!

;)My generation, your Dad & I are from the pre metric era. I was telling someone just the other day, my first calculator was a slide rule. Today, 'it' takes me a while as technology and I don't move forward at the same pace. Ie: working with my new bike computer, long story short, it's going to take a while. Good thing I'm retired and have that time, available.
