Hi guys and gals,

I can get a Eatonia .25 cal rifel.

Its a cool little thing in good shape.

Can you still get ammo for it?

will any .25 cal ammo work?

Anyhelp would be appreciated.

thanks

Very hard to find at gunshows, and there are a few variations, expensive and lots of duds, I am converting my current .25 rimfire to central fire, but this is expensive and many would not bother.
There was a .25 Short, .25 Stevens short, and a .25 Stevens, all are r.f. and all are long obsolete. The .27 cal. nail charges don't fit the Stevens chamber, but prolly would fit the .25 short, not sure about .28 or larger. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using these charges, I have played around with removing the charges and replacing with black powder and lead bullet, but should only be done by those that know what they are about.....Ben

Many Cooeys, depending on condition, are not high dollar guns. Unless you are a collector and don't plan on shooting it, you can hardly give a .25 calibre Cooey away. If you really want to shoot, look for the .22 instead.

I am not actually sure its the .25 . Its says Eatonia 2 and then its worn down and then says alibre. but it looks like the writeing in the link . i think its a model 39 , i have read they came in .22 and .25.

How can it i tell, could i MIC the inside diameter of the barrele end ?

Thanks for the help guys. Either way the gun is awsome and i might ask if i can have it just to hang on the wall. Y not?

Thanks

If it's an Eatonia it shouldn't be anything like a model 39 unless someone put the action in another stock. Does it say S L and LR on the barrel? What does a .22 shell fit in the chamber like? (without closing the bolt of course)

After closer inspection, compoared to the one in the link above the writing is smaller and instead of a thin cut line behind the writing it has a thicker cut out.

I cant see all of the writing just the Eastonia and the end of calibur the rest is rubbed off from wear .

I will get a 22 shell and try and put it in . Dont have any now.

Should i get .22 shorts or longs?

Ill get some pics.
