Eatonia trigger question

Okay not sure that's a Eatonia stock you have there...more like a Mod 39.
Here's a Mod 39. Notice the flat bottom pistol grip and the proper trigger guard.

On all my small Cooeys Ace, Eatonia, Rabbit and Ranger all have a rounded pistol grip.

You are absolutely right. Looks like a model 39 stock for sure. Does the barrel length of my Eatonia look like it is Junior model size?

Here you go. No other markings or serial number as expected. I don't remember up to what year they don't require serial #.

I added an "Edit" to post #20.

Here it is again.

Like to see a pic of the Eatonia emblem on the barrel please.

Re-read you first post. You're right it's not a junior Cooey.

Junior has a 20.5" barrel, 21.25" stock.

Just measured my Mod 39 - 25.5" barrel, 25.25" stock
Hiawatha (Mod 30) -25.5" barrel, 26'5" stock.

Old man Eaton contracted two Eatonia's way back in 1924 with Cooey.
Eatonia .22 long Rifle (Mod 39) and the Eatonia .22 (Mod Ace, Ranger, Rabbit)

I see by the markings on your barrel it is a Eaton's Eatonia .22 Long Rifle.

Very nice find have, not seen too many of those.
Nor the Eatonia 22 Long Rifle with the rear peep sight.

So to answer your first original question ....
You have the wrong trigger guard and need one like in post #20.

Sorry, I keep on missing parts of the conversation. Ok, perfect. I won't move my trigger guard up. I have a source that may be able to get me that trigger guard on post #20. Thank you so much!

You should measure the receiver/barrel only, not including the bolt.

I honestly can not say if you have an OEM stock or not. Cooey did some strange things and people also modified their stocks lots back then.
Just look at all the old milsurp rifles people bought and destroyed by cutting the stocks. Yikes.:sok2

Here's a Eatonia 22 Long Rifle which is suppose to be an OEM stock, yet sure looks like someone cut up a Mod 75 stock to me.

I agree. That looks like a model 75. I have a Ranger that looks like that too. Nice dark walnut stock it appears. I think the Ranger and 75 are similar.

Here are some additional photos. The first photo is when the firearm is cocked. At this point, regardless if the safety was pull back in a ready fire position the trigger will stay forward. The second photo is after the trigger is fired so it is at the normal position. Looking at the marking where trigger guard is, it appears that this trigger has been on this stock for years. I'm thinking it possibly can be an added stock to the Eatonia. I guess one way to rectify this would be to get another trigger guard that is more of a Cooey 75 type which frontal guard balloons out further away from the trigger.

If it's a 24 inch barrel it is not a junior cooey. I owned the same gun as you and it came with a larger stature pre pistol grip stock. The stock in the pic here is a model 39 stock which has a different trigger guard thus the abnormalities. The eatonia also has the senior and senior special models both of which have the longer adult barrels.

Indeed is legitimate as I took that photo lol. I've owned several of these eatonia models and I call them the pig belly. 100 percent factory made.

That is a model 75 or 78 stock but the front has been altered. Regarding the op's gun, I think it is not in the original stock.
Not the rounded one above I assure you. I've seen at least 5 and owned two like this. And only ever on an eatonia with a 22 inch barrel. Ya I'm nerdy that way.

Thx Clay.
I know it's OEM....very rare indeed. And I don't doubt for a minute the authenticity of the stock or image.
But... no doubt... done at the factory, gunsmith shop or in a basement...my guess is, it started as a 75 stock. LOL
Any luck finding a Bisley Sport???
