My .50 AE Desert Eagle is hungry but I can't afford to feed it IMI ammo at $50 a box. I have lots of once fired, a set of dies and a willing spirit, but can't find any source of economical bullets. I considered cast but I understand that they tend to foul gas operated automatics.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

thanks

I bought Speer 325 grain projectiles from 'curese' on this board. He is a dealer and had them in stock. He was a great guy to deal with and even sent me a few pens with the order! He is in Maple Ridge,BC.

Cast is completely out - your gun will seize up quickly.

I've got Ellwood Epps looking for some Speer TMJ 300gr bullets, don't know the price yet.

You can use the Hornady 350gr bullets that seem common - all up, powder, primer, bullet, assuming several reloads, it will cost you $0.96 for each shot.

Has anyone tried these in the Desert Eagle? If so, what load did you use? I've got a couple of boxes of them and was going to improvise a load using H110 but if someone's already got a good load let me know!
