Need a project on the scale of the Alaska Hwy in WW2, with about the same consideration of the land, people and the provinces as back then, basically none, which requires a gov't with the balls and money to do it, of which, we have neither. And we need the icebreakers for anything in Hudson's Bay, which would need a shipbuilding program to build those, or a pile of money to buy them somewhere which will probably take 10 yrs to build, if we're suddenly endowed with the loot. Probably need conscription to build all that in Canada, in any useful time frame.

Alberta and Saskatchewan can’t access the Canadian market. Without the rest of Canada they would be forced to sell to only the USA and be subject to the tariffs
 
Canada is going to lose its only a matter of how badly and if the country remains intact at the end of it. People in the US are not messing around go read some of the pro Trump/USA x accounts they are getting angrier with Canadians every time we respond, half the businesses in Canada are making plans to move to the US, the CDN dollar is tanking. I don't know if Trump really wants to extend the US up to the Arctic or if its just a negotiating ploy but if he is serious he couldn't ask for a more incompetent leader like Trudeau to complete the task. DEI has destroyed this countries ability to defend itself either politically, economically or militarily. Do you want to be a US citizen with the protections of the 2nd amendment and voting rights or a slave in a US military occupied protectorate with no rights at all, I think those may unfortunate but stark choices if we continue on with this tit for tat.

No I don’t want to be acquired by the USA. You think if that was to even happen that we would have equal rights? Haha. This is a non option.

Fortunately Canada has better relationships with many countries other than the U.S., and they’re actually the ones isolating themselves right now.

I agree. I follow Fox News and the comments on their coverage the last couple days have been insane to say the least. Canada might need that underfunded military after all if we want to keep what’s ours. If I wanted to be an American I would have been one by now. This is playing out just like the plot line of super troopers 2

9am tomorrow till 9am Wednesday is just going to be drinking coffee and eating popcorn at the office for me. I did all my last minute things. Nothing to do but watch and see how bad it gets now
 
Ya not suprised some retailers will be tacking the tariffs on existing inventory
No different when the handgun freeze was announced and prices went to the sky
