Hi,

If it's not the good place to post these photos, please feel free to let me know. Oh, and by the way, excuse my poor English writing skill... I'm French speaking.

As some of you already know, I work in a Museum in Quebec City and I'm responsible to identify some pieces in the Museum's collection. Even if I can identify all of them, it would fals to say that I know everything. In fact, I'm far to be knowledgeable about all the small arms models, their is so many of them.

Some are really really hard to identify and they are mislabeled in the database so I request your helps here because in group, we know everything.

So, let,s start with this one. It is labeled as a Turk Mauser. For me it does not work as the markings are not written in arab alphabet. Any guess?!

Oui, la Citadelle!

So yes, the Museum is the Citadelle's Museum. I'm doing the inventory.

Guys you are good... I spent more than an hour trying to find the markings.

Thanks. I will post other pictures... just to see how far can we go in identifying the weapons!

Hi Tac,

You should never excuse yourself for your French. It is almost perfect. I can say, without exagerating, that you have a better writing than any of the young generation. I'm really impress and I'm also thankful for the precision you brought to my attention. I was fairly confident that all the Turk Mauser where written in arabic language... but anyway, at this point, I'm not sure if we have a Turk mauser in our collection.

Thanks again and your French is really stunning!

Martin
