Edmonton and area shoots???

The trouble is in the Edmonton area is there's no real place for long range shooting (I dont consider 300 yards "long range")

There is service rifle sniper matches however at SGGC in the fall.

I am limited to private farm land. So far, I can get out to 800 yards. I am not to keen on crown land as anybody can access it so I don't like shooting on it.

Otherwise, going down to the homestead range west of Calgary is the next best option.

It is tough for us Edmonton area shooters these days.

300 yrds not considered longrange

try shooting golfballs, tennis balls or similar size targets at 300 yrds, hell even try clays, their 3" so any good 1 moa gun should be able to hit them, "NOT" distance is not everything, being able to put your bullet where you want consistantly is, you be surprized at what you cannot hit

Sadly it's been closed for a while, that particular range not CHAS

To clarify: Gennessee is still open.

Shotgun, pistol, and 100M rifle bays are all open.

200 & 300M berms have been reconstructed and are open.

4-5-6-7-800M is all torn down (I'm a member but haven't been out recently - this is what I am told) and have to be rebuilt larger than they were before. It's a longer term project.

It sucks. So, there are no certified ranges longer than 300M anywhere reasonably close to Edm. There was an annual long range shoot the previous several years at Genessee that was wickedawesome but that can't go on, at least for now, for obvious reasons.
