Hi there I was wanting to take the CFSC (non-restricted) test, I called the local Alberta Hunters Education Course place and they said they are all booked up until like September 28 or something and its June now...

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend me a local instructor here, whom I could take the test with? I saw a few ads on like craigslist and stuff about instructors to take the test with but the English was all messed up and made me kind of nervous so I figured I would ask for recommendations.

Thanks a lot, in advance. :)

James.

Have you asked around at P&D Enterprises, Milarm, Phoenix Indoor Range, Wholesale Sports, or Cabela's? I know for certain that P&D and Phoenix do in-house training and testing, not sure about the others but they might be able to connect you to an instructor.

I recommend going for Restricted as well. In the long run you save money, and it allows you to buy just about any firearm you see for sale. I don't want you to suffer through seeing a new gun you want but having to wait another few months to get restricted license to buy it.

Okay thanks very much to both of you I noted down all that info.

"I recommend going for Restricted as well. In the long run you save money, and it allows you to buy just about any firearm you see for sale. "

I would love to get my Restricted too, and I want to. However, I'm a fairly young guy (always been very mature for my age though), I'm 24, and I thought if maybe I applied for both they would deny me for Restricted because maybe they'd think I'm some immature young guy that will shoot up a mall or something. I don't know how many Restricted applications get denied or not. If you reckon' (sorry I was just living in Texas for 4 months), but if you recommend I try for both then maybe I'll do that.

And to computermike " I'm living in the sticks on an acreage West of Edmonton", I used to live on an acerage west of Edmonton too lol. I'll go check out the website you gave me

Anyway thanks a lot for the info it means a lot,
James.

My son just got his PAL/RPAL at the age of 22.

Go for it.
