I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to everyone. I am taking my pal and rpal this weekend and I am looking foward to getting into the shooting sports. I would also like to say thankyou this forum has been very helpful explaning to my family (mother in law) who asks``why would you want a gun``

Welcome from another newbie. I hate that question, it sounds like an easy question but really isn't! I just took my new (to me) Beretta to the range yesterday for the first time, and the smile on my face was the answer. Hope you enjoy CGN as much as I am.

Why do you want a gun? Why do you want new patio furniture? Why do you need more "nik-naks"? Why do you want a sports car?
Because we are humans, we have wants.
Everybody finds different ways to soothe the soul.
An autumn day in a deer stand... a cold, blustery day in a duck blind... a warm, sunny afternoon putting round after round in a 2" circle at 300 meters... knocking over metal plates at 25m with a handgun/round that was invented over 150 years ago.
Hell, in my books you're a freak if you don't want a gun!
