It won't. The EO's that recently came out weren't what was promised so now it has to go through senate and the Republicans will vote it down in hopes of solidifying their base for the next midterm and Presidential elections.

To answer your question if it did go through then yes that's the tip of the iceberg. AR-15 and big scary semi autos would also not legally be allowed to be passed onto future generations.

Again, highly unlikely to happen at this point.

I don't think so, I think this is job creation, many manufacturers have orders going much further in to the future than ever before. Manufacturers will now have to increase their work force to fill those orders, hence job creation. Obama should be proud of his accomplishment, even though that was probably not his plan.

How many jobs can the gun manfacutors produce?
1000 jobs at best? And those jobs will last maybe a year.
That is 1000 out of almost 3 million guns bought in December 2012 alone.
There are alot of people with huge debts.

Until the actual legislation is written and passed into law, nobody really can say what will happen.

I am wondering if all the millions of full capacity mags sold in the last month (and all the millions in use before that) will be grandfathered, or will ALL mags need to be pinned? Nobody knows for sure yet.

Well, Automatic White Balance is when you allow the camera to determine what parts of the image should be rendered as white given prevailing lighting conditions. Sunlight has a colour temperature somewhere between 5600K and 10000K, whereas tungsten incandescent light has a range between 2900K and 3600K. If the Camera determines that scene is predominantly lit by Sunlight, it will render whites somewhere in that sunlight range, leaving tungsten colours off true-white, and leaning towards the reddish-orange side. The same is true in reverse, leaving sunlight a blue/teal colour. Most modern cameras do an excellent job determining white balance automatically, but there are times, like in night-photography, or portraiture where you might want to set your own white balance. Shooting raw also gives you the option to set your white balance after the fact, opening up a world of post-processing possibilities to those talented in photo manipulation...

I doubt most of the folks who have those mags will turn in or pin most of their mags, just as most will not turn in their guns.

Only people who trust their government and believe in it's benevolence would do such things and I am quite confident the new generation of shooters in both Canada and the US do neither. Remember, most (but not all) of the pampered, weak kneed baby boomers were the ones to call for enhanced gun legislation as a part of both cradle to the grave welfare and the military industrial complex.

They could afford to do it and to them it probably made sense.

Times have changed though and North American society is nowhere near as prosperous as it was 20-40 years ago. Thus the 20-40 year old mindset, especially towards government is very different from the 40-60 year olds who pushed for, tolerated, implemented and are still trying for enhanced gun control.

I certainly don't trust the government, no matter who is running it - I think the number of people with a similar mindset is growing faster than many would like to believe.

I have to concur... but to answer the OP this is what is proposed currently...

Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:

Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
120 specifically-named firearms;
Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one or more military characteristics; and
Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test;
Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test; and
Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans.
Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:
Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment;
Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes; and
Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons.
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration.
