It seems there has been a significant uptick in the variety and quality of the offerings in the "Pistols and Revolvers" section of the EE. Has anyone else noticed this? In the last week or two I've seen older, less common S&W's, Lugers,Inglis Hi-Powers and BHP's from the 60's-70's, a PK P7M, a Sig P210 Legend and several high end 1911's to name a few.

I snagged this S&W 19-3 in the less common nickle finish today. Seems like it's a good time to be a buyer. Do you think it's the economy or do you think people are really worried about the election?

I think the economy is contributing a lot... most of the gems I've grabbed in the last few months have all been off laid-off oil patch workers. Lots of guys buy expensive toys when things are good, and need to liquidate to pay the mortgage when things are bad...

I said almost this exact same thing in another thread a week ago!

I think it is far more unhappy events than that.

I dunno about your club, but at mine a lot of the old farts are not showing up anymore. Fact is...guys like me are becoming the old club duffers now. I think a lot of them are selling off their guns as they age and it is good to see them going to younger shooters that will appreciate them.

More likely people selling to assemble $$ for other purchase(s).

Good score on your part, though.

NAA.

Well, whatever the reason, the influx of neat/rare/unusual/less run of the mill guns continues. Last night a really nice looking Inglis and a beautiful 1948 K-22 5 screw complete with box showed up. The Smith was gone by this morning so I guess the buyers are still there as well.

edit and I see on closer inspection that the Inglis Hi Power is marked SPF.
