Seems like right now prices on EE (handguns) are pretty reasonable in some cases lowest they ever been and yet seems like very little is being sold I seems. Lots of btt's and don't see many sold plz remove titles. Anyone else noticed? Thoughts?

I dont really follow the handgun EE. However, every year there is a summer doldrum for selling. The number of items posted, and sold significantly drops. Usually say Victoria day and labour day.

This year it seems its between the introduction of C71 and continues. Like people are holding their breath.

Handgun EE is the only EE I follow really, always pop in to see whats new, or if there's any deals that I cant pass up. Can't say I noticed the summer drop off before, but interesting point. Last time Paul Martin and the liberals tried to ban handguns sales actually went up so cant see C71 being the reason, and really hope its not!

I'm only on the EE when I'm looking for something. But I have noticed that popular items priced right selling quickly, sometimes within minutes of posting. Doesn't seem to matter the time of year or any political rantings. Overpriced and you see weeks of BTT.

I see a lot more listed, I think some guys are running scared, happens every time the Liberals come up with a "new" plan Happened with C68
My trouble is that I usally don't check it till late night, and the stuff I like is sold already if price right.
If not priced right, sit for months.

I've scored some steals on EE over the years and yes have to act fast, but i'd say those are priced WAY below the average going rate.

The introduction of the STAG-10, and BCL102 308 offering. killed the AR 308 restricted market. :(

Just like gen5 Glock killed the gen4 resale value (to be expected) Also I feel like Canadian Glock 19 prices not only killed the previous G19 prices, I think they effectively shifted the pricing on other guns as well.

Good call, I sold my Gen 3's and I'm waiting for G19X to show up, never was a fan of the G19 threaded barrel, and I agree with your point. I wonder how the G19 Cdn version fairs against the G19X if they come out with a Blk model?

I scored my best deal ever earlier this year on the Pistol EE ($350 for a mint Gen 4 Glock 41 with fibre optic front sight- but no mags).

I do find when I go to sell a pistol, they sit longer than any of my other postings, and I believe I always post fair prices. I think that it just comes down to there being less pistol buyers than any other kind of firearm. I also find a lot of pistols priced at or near new value. As if saving the tax is a good enough reason to buy used, or a generation lower than what's new.

I saw this coming as soon as the Canadian Glock 19's were announced, and flogged off my spare gen 3 19 for a trade value of 850ish.
A month or two later, the gen 3 19's were worth 600-650.

What gets me is these guys asking 700+ for old gen 3 17's, or 500 for a gen 3 slide and barrel.

I don't think it "killed" resale, it just lowered the value of each previous generation as is typical in most resale markets.

There are still numerous used G19 Gen3s on the EE going for more than a new Gen4 Canadian and with one fewer mag.

However there are some great prices on the M&P 2.0 right now, better than a lot of the 1.0 models.

The entire EE is slow right now. I guess the season has something to do with it but the overall economy is having an effect as well imo.

I think you’re right about the economy. Political climate may deter a small number of buyers but I suspect economics is the big one. I’ve sold six handguns this summer and five of them were deals over $2750. All sold relatively quickly at or very near asking, so I’d argue the high end of the market is still very much active. On the other hand, all of my listings below $1000 have either sat for a long time or not sold at all.

High grade stuff/ exotic always seems to sell O.K., something I found out years ago ,junk, common has to be real cheap, though there are the young guys starting out that look for a bargain , I do also, but my price point is a bit higher these days

As someone has already said, the EE is slow overall. The economy is also slow overall. Not sure if it has t do with the summer season, or people are afraid our offing #### of a PM is digging us into a hole with NAFTa, Saudi Arabia etc.

Also i find the EE to be weird. A piece of $200 crap will sell at $350, but a quality piece that could be valued at $600-800 won't sell priced at $500.
