EESA 2010 Charity Match Open...now with shirts!

That's what I thought, it definitely wasn't a speed shoot as there was at least 13 or 14 shots (depending on how many steel were at the start position) and after shooting the 8 on paper he ran to the left so I assumed more shots that were not on video. I looked at the the videos he had and they weren't speed shoots either.

You are so religious man ,
running to the left was optional. I did as an insurance. It was medium, but was more like a speed shoot with reload. And yes, you have missed a good match. Shame on you :D

On the other hand,
Pat would it be OK to send you scores using iPhone.
Saul Kirsch has created a program for scoring. I like it, and am willing to buy it as long as it is OK with IPSC ON for accepting that format.

Greetings

Unfortunately I had to work this past weekend, well, the past few actually (the price of taking a couple of weeks off to prepare for and shoot the USPSA Nationals) and I missed two great matches. Glad everyone had a good time!
Any way you can get me a sample of the scores as they are submitted so we can test them out. We need to make sure that the format will work with the program we will be using to pull and calculate the classifiers. Personally I'd like to see/use it since I have an iPhone too.
As it is there is a small flaw in the PDF's created with MSS, but the newest version might be working. For now we are going to try asking MD's to submit in txt and work on the problem.

Thanks Pat,

I am going to help with entering scores for the next match in my local club using iPhone application and we see how it works.

Take a look. I like it, because we can run scores quick and send data to you so shooters can view results right away and we reduce waiting time to minimum.

Good Luck in Las Vegas, make sure you have heavy shades when you in Vegas, so many 'things' to watch

it was really a medium course of fire with 2 shooting positions, option to run to other side to see if you hit the mover and follow up, if so required.

A stage that is realistically doable under 10 seconds (especially for the guys with the magwells) is pretty much a speed shoot to me. :D

Peter, why don't you send me those scores. The overall and stage results. I will take a look.

In the worst case, you'll have to enter them in WinMSS after the match. :D

Eugene,
I have not get the program from Saul yet. I am planning on doing so and help with my local club first and then if this will work with IPSC ON we can maybe incorporate into something bigger and better. Program scores in Word, I believe.

Lol under 10 is a medium to me, under 4 is a speed shoot. We've had field courses (28-32 rounds) that we have shot under 10!
Here's one from the Double Tap as an example, 24 round field course:
1 L. M.Jr. GM Open 115 0 6.34 18.1388 120.0000 100.00%
2 L. D. GM Open 110 0 6.23 17.6565 116.8093 97.34%
3 D. R. GM Open 110 0 6.30 17.4603 115.5113 96.26%
4 A.S. M Open 115 0 6.66 17.2673 114.2345 95.20%
5 J. G. B Open 116 0 6.84 16.9591 112.1955 93.50%

Before you get too far down this road.

Rule 9.11.1 The scoring programs approved by IPSC are the Match Scoring System (MSS) and Windows® Match Scoring System (WinMSS). No other scoring program must be used for any IPSC sanctioned match without the prior written approval of the Regional Director of the host Region. In the case of MSS and WinMSS the most recent versions of the scoring programs available from the IPSC website are to be used.

So...Rachel is going to have to contact Sean if you want to try this for a sanctioned match (OK for something club level) FYI...it's not the first and alternate program has been considered...

Peter...since you've alreday looked at this...what is the license structure for having multiple copies (ie. one for each score keeper at a match) Can you buy a site license...or do you need a seperate license key for each device?

"speed shoot" is a very general term. You can have an in your face 32rd feild course with little movement where the biggest factor is your speed on the trigger. On the flip side you can have an 8 round speed shoot where every shot is a hard one and speed is your enemy.

It's really not that complex, Haliburton did it years ago. 4 banks of 4 targets all inside of 5m with no more than a couple of steps from position to position. That might have been the match before the one I took my sights off to shoot.
