Ok guys...........

We now have a go.

First ever EESA Grand Tournament 3 gun match.

This series of matches will run under the new GT rules and consist of 3 component matches. The end result of the 3 matches will be combined to form a GRAND TOURNAMENT.

Match 1. Rifle May 2nd

Match 2 Shotgun May 30th

Match 3 Handgun Sept 26th.

Squads will be limited to 3 squads of 10 plus our worker bees who will shoot on the preceeding Friday and Following Sunday.

Each match will consist of at least 6 stages an require at least 100 rounds. This will be updated as we progress.

Cost will be around $30 per component

Preference for Squadding will be given to those individuals signing up for the whole series.

Sounds like a good time, I'll be there.

Whats up with the 4 month break between the shotgun and handgun?

Well all the ranges are booked for June what with the Military Shoot, Open House and Women in the Outdoors events.

The July and August match schedules are pretty full as it is and I really want people to be able to get all three components.
There is a waterford match on the same weekend but it will run both days. Interested shooters can shoot the EESA Handgun portion on the Saturday then catch Waterford on the Sunday.
Sadly the EESA crew will have to bail on the Waterford match.

Plus.........our club has been asked to participate in OPEN DOORS ELGIN by the county. It is a program in which area sporting organizations open their doors for people to see what is going on in the country. You will be able to drop in at the curling club or horseshoe toss club for example and see what is up.

Picking that date will ensure that there is something going on other than two guys sighting in their hunting guns.

So...............I am really using and abusing our IPSC shooters for advertizing l:redface:

Can someone attend the rifle and shotgun matches if they do not have their black badge yet?

And then attend the pistol match assuming the stars line up and I can actually get myself into a BB course.

Theres BB courses all the time, just depends on how far you are willing to drive

There is a BB Course in Windsort in 2 weeks.

The EESA BB Course is sandwiched between the Rifle and Shotgun matches. It was the only way to get it done considering range useage.

So based on these responses, I'm interpreting that a BB is required to compete in the rifle and shotgun events.

Don't know if Windsor is doable for me.
we'll see

I've done my black badge, just havent done my qualifier match yet so I still have that snazzy blue card. No problems correct?
Hopefully I'll be able to get out to a qualifier match this summer.

The Rifle match would be your qualifier actually I would think..............

But do not quote me on it....... It would be the first time with a RIFLE only match but since IPSC treats Rifle, Shotgun and Handgun training as identical at this point it would follow that the first match would take care of it for you.

hhmmmm....you're right this has probably never come up before...but the BB is pistol oriented...so the Qualifier would still have to be a Pistol match.

It makes no difference...he could still shoot the rifle and shotgun portions...just has to hang on to the Blue card a bit longer (until he shoots a sanctioned pistol match)

You know that was my actual first reply.

However I did not want to be the one to say that the BB course was oriented to pistol and not rifle or shotgun........too many political landmines there.

Either way as long as he can shoot it there should be no problem.

That said there are PLENTY of matches between now and then that can be taken as qualifiers.

I just saw the three matches on matches.net a couple of days ago. I have been doing pistol for a while, but have not had the chance to do either shotgun or rifle - so not really sure what I might need. I see the round count and I know Elgin has some great long range courses. WIll you have a bit more details later on - especially shotgun - slug/shot complement for example? I only belong to Range Burlington, so my AR is set to 50yds only. I really enjoyed the google sketch-up you had for the provincials last year.
