Its listed as a 3 gun match? What do I need to shoot it? Would I be able to shoot it and lend my shotgun and AR to a friend of mine to use as well? Any limitations on optics etc? Wanted to use a 14inch 870 copy and a 10.5 inch AR with a red dot. Do I need shell carriers and AR mag carriers? How many of each is needed? Thanks for any help.

Try talking to Stormbringer here on gunnutz. He is organizing the match, AFAIK.

yeah I figured he was... hopefully he will have some input on what to bring.. whats needed etc.

Yes handgun shotgun and rifle.

There are pretty much divisions for everything.

Generally we only recognize Standard and Open.

Bottom line if you have optics on anything you are in open. If you do not likely you are in Standard.

As to carrying ammo options I have seen everything from Assault vests to a beaver lumber nail pouch.

You should plan on at least 25 round courses of fire.

Storm,

Will I be able to share my stuff with another competitor? I have a friend who wants to shoot it..but doesnt have a shottie or AR. I take it theres no production for pistol? Just either Standard or Open for all choices? Whats the max range for rifle? Is is regular metric or classic targets? For AR I will need 6 mags? Does this sound right? For shotgun its what slugs and #4 buck? Thanks for the help.

I'll take a crack...Storm looks to be offline

Yes you may share (let the RO know so you and your buddy can be offset in the shooting order)

Yes there will be Production for pistol (that's what I shot last year) There is no Production for Shottgun or Rifle.

Max range for rifle...I hope npo more than 150 meters...but you never know with Storm :(

6 mags minimum (something always goes wrong) :bangHead:

For the shotgun you need Slugs for the paper (usually only about 8 rounds) and lead shot for the steel. I use #6

Cheers

Sorry cooking supper for Diablo and I.

Hell I ENCOURAGE sharing gear!! Many people do not have proper equipment or firearms for 3 gun. If we want the sport to grow the best way I can think of is to let people try it out and convert them.

To clarify on classes.

There will indeed be Production for the Handgun portion of the match. However in the tournament Production will be classed as Standard.

You see there are really three separate matches that are used as data for the final tournament scores.

6 mags for the AR is fine.... Max range at EESA is 300m. Last time we only went to 200m for the rifle portion because I am such a nice guy. I am hopefully not doing all the stage design for this match so I cannot comment on what the final distances are going to be.

For shotgun I suggest Slugs ( as light as you can get) and Birdshot (I use #6) EESA does not allow buckshot to be fired at steel targets.

Mind you we might have some buckshot fired on paper targets so a box would be a good plan to have.

We generally use classic targets at EESA because we are cheap.

ALright this sounds ok. Yeah I would like to bring along a buddy of mine and lend him some goods..course Ill get the nice mag carriers and ill give him a large bag to use..lol.

300 yards with Iron sites? hmm I dont think I can see that far. I guess you will have online sign up for this one later on? Thanks for the help.

one last thing..its not like a tac match where you have to carry stuff around is it? I dont need slings for AR or shottie right? Those are only used for their stages then put down right? Thanks for the help, looking forward to finally shooting a 3 gun.

Yuri it is on May 26/27th.........(I was wrong before)

USP...Online signup is already going!!!

And yes you use only 1 rifle at a time. Like I said it is basically a rifle match, handgun match and shotgun match shot on the same time. I find that slings just get in the way and take them off for IPSC 3 gun matches.

I doubt we will be shooting out to 300 m. I just like to put the fear of STORM into CX4 Storm owners!! LOL!!
