effin porcupines

Stick hunt, tooth pick anyone ?

Put a piece of plywood out that has been soaked in salt water. When they come eat it hit them with a stick. Porcupines dont really throw quills so its safe. Then eat them. They are pretty good.

This quote made my day. Damm funny ! But, probably just as effective as plugging them with a firearm.

As for eating them the one quote that mentions that they "come with thier own toothpicks," is # 2 in my books.

Go Canucks !

"Stunning, which is described as delivering a blow to the central skull bones with sufficent force to produce massive cerebral hemorrage and immediate depression of the central nervous system. after stunning the animals major blood vessles should be cut, and the chest and heart opened.
its very esthetically unpleasant, but its one of the three legal dispatch methods approved by my DNR."

Wow you'd think that after striking and producing a "massive cerebral hemorrage and immediate depression of the central nervous system ( nice way of saying caving the head in)," and then cutting the animals "major blood vessles (ie neck)," that opening the chest and hear would be a tad bit of over-kill!

To be on the safe side they should have added " the chest and heart opened and eaten immediately, raw."

Years ago there was a NBL season for them here. Only ever saw it once though.

Dad and I saw one out in the field, 22lr and into the stew pot with it.
I'm still waiting for another open season on them.
They are awesome eating.
