I bet it doesn't even hold a zero
I think that's some nice work. It's the new "camo welding" I've heard about. Any large expanse of smooth steel acts as a reflecting surface and draws the eye, whereas a weld like this, with all those bumps and divots and texturing, just sorta fades into the background.
Seriously, I'd be too afraid of liability issues to even give away that thing, let alone sell it; I'd sure as hell never shoot it.
Sure he did! You should have seen it before...Has this person not thought to at least emery that patchwork of ugly welds?
Thanks! I hate this revelation!Sure he did! You should have seen it before...
Was the guy a gunsmith? Tell us his name that we may avoid the same fate.Sadly, not only was that not the case, but i had to pay over $200 for the job.
The guy that did the work tried some other ways before, but it kept failing to hold zero. I got tired of trying over and over again and just told him to weld it and make sure it holds zero.

The world is a better place for that.nah, he was some kid working out of his garage and used to have gun smith services advertised on GP. I believe he has joined CAF now and no longer does this work.
Looks like removing the bolt carrier might be a pain with thisI don't usually take a dump on EE adds, but uhh I couldn't let this one slide lol.
I don't think I've ever in my life seen anything like this...I don't think I've ever seen welding this bad on anything, truck, bicycle, steel target to shoot up, wheh, I don't know what else to say.
I don't even weld, but I'm pretty sure I could learn it, and teach my 11 year old how to do a better job the same day I learned it lol.
Just wheh...$750...
