ejecting problem with ithica 300

I have just recently got a ithica 300 and the guns fires but it doesn't eject. Once the bolt is pulled back the gun ejects the shell and puts a new one in that is as far as i have obsevered. The gun has had a coplete rip down, cleaned, and put back together. The complete cleaning didn't fix it. Any sugestions
 
No the 300 should handle the AA loads well. I am starting to think you have an extraction problem after the gun is fired. This is often the result of a corroded or pitted chamber. Take a 12 gauge brush with some metal polish (Flitz etc) and put it on a section of cleaning rod. Drive the rod and brush with an electric drill and polish the chamber. What has happened in the past with some autos I have owned is that for an instant the fired round sticks in the chamber retarding the entire cycle of action. This is due to rough chamber surfaces. Remember the pits and roughness are not always visible. Without firing the rounds will cycle and extract without an issue.

I tried a bunch of different loads in the gun today. Everything fires okay except the AA I shot slugs, winchester target, and kent target. They all seemed like they shot well. I think I will see what it likes and doesn't and just go from there thanks for the advice.
 
I don't remember off hand - does that have a recoiling barrel like the Auto Five? If it does ... getting the friction pieces set correctly and lubing the tube is required.
 
I tried to find a schematic of the ITHICA model 300 . All I could find is it is a SKB shotgun imported by ITHICA in late 60 ,early 70's recoil operated and SKB do not have any parts available.
 
I believe the 300 is a gas operated shotgun. I have a wonky barrel at home (at work right now) and what I remember is that there are 2 holes, one on either side of the barrel lug that corresponds to the piston on the mag tube. I had an issue with another Ithaca (500) and could attribute it to the hull style. Madtrapper is right with the polishing of the chamber, this could help as well.
