Ejector star won't seat

Cleaned my super redhawk and now the ejector star wont seat it self down, happened last time too but after fumbling with the cylinder it closed and was trouble free all through my last session. I'm pretty new to double actions and don't know what to do next I have tried giving it a better cleaning and worked the rod but the gap actually got wider, getting pretty frustrated any help would would be great.

Use a tooth brush under the star.

I've got the underside of the star and the face of the cylinder clean enough to eat off of. I even tried blasting out along the the inside ejector rod with non chlorinated brake cleaner.

Problem solved the star had threaded it self off the retainer while I was manipulating the cylinder. Now I know a little more about what makes it tick.

That can happen with the nut on the end of the ejector rod on S&W guns too (just in case you find yourself with the same problem on a different gun)
