elbow padding shooting prone

I like something under my elbows. Sticking my funny bone into the ground is not my idea of fun. Especially when there is ice/snow on the firing line, or there is hard gravel. If you guys don't need pads to shoot accurately, you are stronger willed then me.

Usually it is cold enough in the mountains to use some sort of a jacket. And that is enough. For warm days, I have used a bdu with sleeping pad foam stitched in.

I have permenantly injured my left elbow from hitting the ground while trying to man handle my C9 while doing section attacks. Now I always wear elbow and knee pads myself

One of the guys at our club uses slip on knee pads for skateboarders. Medium size, I believe. I haven't tried them yet but he swears by them. HTH

I would just use skateboard pads, or similar :D

most army surplus store have this brand and should also have the pads, shirts comes in many colors and camo patterns.

Why not just wear elbow pads? That skateboarder stuff looks a little far out. I didn't look at the dead hotlinks, but One Shot Tactical, and Dave's Surplus and Tactical both sell Alta knee and elbow pads for next to nothing. I just got some Hatch ones locally, used them on a coarse, and I'll never go to the ground without them again! Unless of course, I really need to and I'm not wearing them. These items are definitely worth 20-30 bucks each, top and bottom. That's my opinion. Who am I? The comfortable guy without cut up and bruised knees and elbows. No distractions.

You could also try to find the old USMC shooting jacket. Basically just a heavy weight shirt with sewn on elbow pads and a shoulder pocket pad. Similar to the heavy shooting jacket that Longshot linked to but not a) as thick, b) as hot, or c) as restrictive, (just a button up shirt, no straps). Much more suitable for service rifle than the heavy NRA high power shooting jackets.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to get one around here (and I am looking for one myself). Fred of FredsM14stocks carries them, but I understand he won't ship anything to Canada anymore after being officially warned about M-14 stocks, which is mostly what he sells.
