Just noticed this on Wolverine Supplies:

Has anyone tried it? If so, how does it compare to their DR series as well as Trijicon ACOG's? It looks to me like it's basically one of the DR sights, but in a fixed 4 power.

It IS a DR, but without the 1-4x capability.

The mount is the same, which is the 'problem' on all Elcans. For the price I'd stick with a known entity - namely, the ACOG.

Just did a review for the PWS Mk110 and used this scope on it.

This scope was made to compete with the ACOG TA31. As far as I'm concerned:

Pro's
Cheaper
Better Glass (subjective)
Adjustable illumination
Canadian

Cons
Battery life (no batteries needed in the ACOG)
Weight

There have been concerns raised regarding the external adjustments on the Elcan. Apparently they have been improving this as generations passed for the C79 and gotten better in this model. I haven't experienced any negatives here.

To me, the only real concern is weight. If that doesn't matter to you, you will be very satisfied. I will publish my review soon, including my points and pictures of the Elcan. Stay tuned.

they have svd-type reticule on some of these (i think that's what on the picture), chervon can be illuminated separately, + you can mount RMR or doctor on the top, i personaly like the idea of no moving parts - fixed magnification and glass as FrankieT said is very clear, it's on my list for my swiss arms

Why does Elcan stick with external vs internal windage and elevation adjustments? I have always found the optics nice and clear, but despite using Elcans for over a decade, I still get the heevie jeevies about their mount / adjustment system.
