Good morning folks.......

I picked up a tickle trunk full of goodies (misc ammo, Mags, etc...) and I found an Elcan sight at the bottom. I dont know anything about these so I did some research and that tells me its a C79 - with a green rubber boot. I has torsion springs on the thumb nuts and rubber back up sights on top. It looks like new, however, the reticle doesnt glow. Arent they all supposed to glow.... then again, who knows how old this thing is.

Any thoughts on value and can I get the trituim redone????

Please advise.

Come on guys....... 20 veiws, no replies...?????

The newer C79A2 is the one with the green rubber cover but these can be swapped and probably has been since you say the tritium is dead. If you look where the base joins the scope you'll find the serial number. The first two digits will indicate year of manufacture. Contact Armament Technology about getting the tritium replaced.

No tritium, I'd say it's worth around 3-500.

ETA: What do you mean by torsion springs?

I read online that there was a complaint about the sight coming loose during rapid fire, heavy use, etc... then they said that the newer models have torsion springs on the screws to keep them from coming loose... they look like warped washers under the thumb nuts that bind up when you tighten them.

And thanks for the info.
