Elcan spectre Dr?

What do you think? How well would the Elcan work on the M305?
I have read there are 2 versions: 1st a 1x4 power, 2nd a 1.3x6 power.
This sounds like something great to save up for, but there seems to be a few detractors. Some folks say they will not hold zero well during rough use,so its makes me hesitant as they are not cheap.
I realise the fixed power unit is in use with great sucess but what about
the Dr? So please educate me if you have real experience with these.
 
My section commander ran one on our past tour. He had nothing but good things to say about it. It was banged around and beat on. Looked like hell at the end of roto. Held zero. Great hit at over 300M with it....

I have 5 now, it's pretty much the only optic I use. The first gen units were sporadically reported ( never confirmed) to lose zero after being knocked hard or removed and then put back on (mostly on US forums where they can't stomach the fact that Canadians might have a
better product than they could produce). The one confirmed issue is POI shift when switching from 1x to 4x, but if you zero at 4x @ 100 meters your POI on 1x should only be out by 1/4 MOA maximum ( which is more than plenty for QCB). I've used everything from aimpoint, eotech, trijicon, vortex, S&B, to Burris and the Elcans are the best all around IMHO. Great glass and FOV, and they are made to be abused. I like that even if there is a battery failure you still have the etched crosshairs and if the glass is damaged, it has built in irons on top of the optic ( no need for BUIS). Biggest drawbacks are weight and price, heavy on both the wallet and arms...
 
Just keep in mind the Spectre DR comes in two flavours: one for 5.56mm and one for 7.62mm. I think the loss of zero was with the old C79 mounts.
