I just wanted to share my personal experience with Elcan's warranty on my used spectre DR 1x4 .223. About two months ago I purchased the spectre on the EE here (I got it for a great price and the seller was great too). Upon receiving the scope and using it at my range I noticed that the red dot reticle would go out during recoil, a slight bump to the scope or changing the intensity of the illumination would bring it back. This was a minor inconvenience but not the end of the world as I got such a decent deal on it ( not sure if this is why it was sold or not and I'm not blaming the seller). I decided to contact Elcan and inquire about the warrany. I was emailed back the next day requesting the serial number on the scope, later the same day I was again emailed with an RMA # and asked to send the scope to Armament Technologies in Halifax for the warranty service (shipping there was on my dime, return was not). I recieved an email to confirm the reciept of the scope at armament the same day it was delivered. A week went by before I got an email from a rep at Armament describing the problem and that a tech was fixing it. Two weeks later the scope was back to me fixed with a new battery installed and a new spare also included. They were very good with the communication and contact info was included with all emails (I contacted the rep once by phone to check in and he was very receptive and informative). The scope was manufactured in 2010 according to the serial # and I was never asked for a reciept or any info on where the scope was purchased. Great service from a Canadian company.
