ELD-X 175 gr 7mm

A good friend and hunting buddy, who also happens to be a great marksman, tried some of these bullets in a Remington 700 (BDL about 40 years old) and could not get them to group better than about two inches. He then tried the 150 gr version with about the same results. In the past this particular rifle has been much more accurate than this. Does anyone here load these bullets and if so can you recommend a load that you have used get them to group? For the 175s his recipe was 60.9 gr of IMR 4831 with Tulammo LR mag primers in Remington brass. Don't know what he used for the 150s.

I shot 4 groups of three all the same powder load with varying seating depths. .010" jammed, 0.010 jumped, .040 jumped, and .080 jumped. They all hovered around just over 1 inch. With the .040 jumped shooting just under 1" but on a very linear horizontal plain. I am sure if I wanted I could get them to group alot better. That being said they have a very long bearing surface, and I can just barley get them in my mag, at .040 jumped. So I wont do any more load development unless I cant sell them.

rifle is a 24" 7-08 with a 1-8 twist.
