Does anybody have first hand experience with this particular bullet on game especially in 7mm or .308 caliber?
Is it comparable to the Accubonds?
Thanks.

There has been a couple recent threads on this. I've been shooting them and they seem to shoot good. It sounds like the are more comparable to an sst or interlock but it seems they're too new for a lot of on game performance reviews. They won't hold together like an interbond.

Listen to Dogleg...there is wisdom here.

I do know what an Accubond is all about, just not familiar with the Eld-x and on top of it their website makes you believe that they are this new hunting phenomenon second to nothing.
just wanted to find out the truth from people that actually have used it themselves.
I believe Dogleg already answered that, it's more of a target bullet like the A-Maxs .

If you are a fan of Berger's "Hunting Bullets" then these would be about the same class.
If you look at the difference between the ELD-M and ELD-X the X has a larger hollow point to aid expansion but that seems to be it.
I don't mind the theory behind long range hunting bullets...at 600m the bullets have slowed quite a bit so a light construction bullet will still blow up. At close range however I don't like that kind of performance.

I'm a fan of the Accubonds, I do believe they mentioned on the website that this bullets are better than anything else past 400 meters or so,that might be but I will stick to the Accubonds for now.

I want to try these in my 270 this year.

The ELD-X's is their hunting bullet, so it should expand some.

It's not that they don't expand, it's that Hornady cup-n-core bullets are poorly constructed and tend to explode/fragment/separate far too often in big game.

I think you'll like them. Can't speak to the ELD but we tried AB's this fall and were much happier with the AB's over the SST...

That being said the SST's were pretty darn accurate. I think Hitzy says it well regarding the hornady cup and cores.

Not the best choice for high velocity impacts, but for their intended use, open country hunting where impact speeds likely will be below 2500 fps, should do just fine.

As Mark has stated, If a big bull Elk showed up at 30 meters, this may well not be what you want in the chamber. However, at longer ranges, it may work OK. Personally, I believe there are better bullets that work
well close in and still will expand at 500 Meters. Dave.
