Election Over Can The SCAR FRT Be Released?

Can someone from Questar /Mark comment about this? I am particularly concern whether FN will eventually provide the info to RCMP. Thanks.

+1

There has to be somebody somewhere that can actually comment on the true status as opposed to the current state of hearsay and conjecture.

Sigh .... All of this would be a non-issue if the Minister in Charge would bother to make a phone call going along the lines of "I need a decision within 48 hours or I will OIC it, understood ?"

Except the minister in charge reportedly doesn't like black rifles or see any reason why anyone should be allowed to own one.

Well the end of another week and I am at a loss to "spin out" anymore conjecture? I suppose if this keeps up I will end up having some sort of "blog" and try to feed the masses some sort of "urban legend" about the SCAR. Mildot OUT :(

Wow... $4100? I'll wait for the XCR-M....

Anyway, it's unbelievable that the RCMP are able to drag their feet like this.

No it's not unbelievable. They have absolutely no incentive, reason, or law to speed anything up. The minister in charge doesn't give a sh*t, the RCMP are looking for any reason to deny, in their eyes it's nothing more than a game to deny legal gun owners something they want.

Believe it or not that's pretty accurate, the FOI request has been received and its pretty clear at this point that most of the the concerns are "manufactured". Overall, very disappointing from an institution like the RCMP, but alas everyone has an "agenda" why not the RCMP.

Well Excellent Job FrankieT, you make me proud to be a CGN member today.Now time to "roll up our sleeves" and put an end to this fiasco!!!

I accidentally posted it. Instead of previewing my post, I hit submit post. It will be released shortly to the masses. We have a working group attempting to get some action. Hopefully something happens soon. If not, perhaps the community as a whole can help.

Here's another opinion from down south;

The civilian version was designed not to take full auto parts. The requirements to do so are even more stringent in the USA then they are in Canada.

In Canada, one may own a 'restricted' weapon, upon registering it and having a plethora of certificates and licenses and completed courses and waited for ever.

That said, the Canadian weapon may have a short barrel and a collapsible stock. They have no concept of SBR.

I remember Alan Rock banning every rifle that looked mean or was black. I remember the days when Canada had easier gun laws than USA. Those were the good ol' days until liberal dushe bag Kretin and his poncho A. Rock f**ked it up.

So - the RCMP may sit on that forever. It's up top them - since they were given that authority by Orders in Council C68.

Unlike the AR15 variants, there are NO FULL AUTO parts available to the civilians in the USA, never will be.

One would need a full auto lower and a full auto bolt carrier - none of which are going to reach the populace - unless a police department decides to de-militarize them - in which case - parts kits may become available. That's the only way someone in Canada 'may' have the necessary parts to convert a semi-auto SCAR to full auto.

Quite frankly - the Canadian owners can just as well get the full auto parts kits for their AR's and be done with it. Much faster, simpler and easier. The AR15 is now a restricted weapon, same as the SCAR would be.

So in as far as the RCMP - they are just stonewalling the issue. They have much in common with the ATF, except more incompetent and beligerant.

Well another Sunday night, and another new week and Monday morning tomorrow.No update and nothing from the importer? wondering if there is some sort of conclusion to this classification??:confused:

Well I'm on "days off" and as usual another thread spiked my thoughts on the SCAR fiasco. I figure that over the past year I've gone through 5 stages;

DENIAL: I couldn't believe that the DOS approved the permits and that some rifles had made it to Canada
ANGER: Well after hearing that the FRT# would be issued, the RCMP games begin.
BARGAINING;Well there was a discussion that if it was approved as a "variant" that would be OK, instead of seeing that its a "horse of a different color"
DEPRESSION:Well $4200 tied up for what will be a year in a couple of months, and no rifle, and no way to make a decision on whether to bail?
ACCEPTANCE:You got it, there is no legal recourse and all we can do is wait.

Well there you have it, if I do this every so often it makes me fell better for some reason, don't ask me why.Maybe because the reader gets a good laugh? ;)
