I had a spring loaded thrower and used it a few times until a shooting buddy found a whicked deal on an electric thrower. The mechanical one didn't come ever since. Yes the electric one is more cumbersome to move and transport but worth it in my mind. Very nice to use and if your running the pedal its easy to shoot at the same time. Usually we play a game, I run the pedal, he shoots if he misses I shoot.
The only hiccup we had was the thrower should have been set up farther ahead, a clay broke and got him in the hand and cut open his pinky pretty bad. That was the end of our day. So you have to respect them, make sure you know how they operate and how to use the safety devices.
