Electric Tape Wrapped around a Barrel?

I have a pack of what i call finger condoms in my hunting bag. Can get them at the pharmacy, they are to keep dirt and crap out of a finger wound you cant bandage right.

They work well they are the size of a quarter and have a built in elastic to hold them on. I can see a dollar store bag of baloons working as well.

the rifles I use in the bush are chrome lined barrels so not an issue from me other then my Mossberg but other people I know use finger condoms or have barrel caps on of the guys printed on his 3d printer... then broke it...

I just snap off a twig about the same diameter as my bore and jam it in my barrel . No use wasting good money on tape .

Chrome lined or not, if you pack some dirt in the muzzle you don't know about, your bush rifle becomes a bush pipe bomb.

I thought the same thing, but I could never find a twig that sealed properly. But then I realized I have a whole pocket full of cartridges that are the EXACT right size. Just turn your loaded rifle up towards yourself, then push a live cartridge bullet first into the muzzle. It won't fit right away, so you'll need to use a rock or another loaded rifle as a hammer to pound it in there. Stop when there's only about half the brass left sticking out. Ain't no dirt or snow getting in MY barrel!

You boys are joshing I expect.

I used a condom over a muzzleloader once. Shot a nice buck. When I walked up to it I found the condom almost at the deer. It was like a hardened 2' hollow spear. Kinda neat.
I now use power belt bullets they seal out water no I don't ever worry about the powder getting wet any more.
Any other rifle I just watch my muzzle and inspect if I suspect it hit anything

As several other posters have already mentioned, the cheapest and most effective way to protect your muzzle/bbl from rain, debris or becoming plugged with snow, mud or dirt in the case of a fall is with a "finger cot." They've also been called "finger condoms". They're available from any pharmacy in their first aid section. They typically only cost a couple of bucks for a blister pack of five. There's no need to remove them before shooting and they're generally tougher than condoms and won't leave sticky tape residue like electrical tape.
