I was just on Primos web site and they have a electronic coyote caller for $50 with a remote control good for 50yds, has anyone tried this caller, does it work in really cold weather

As with many things, you get what you paid for in e-callers.

No doubt. I could not justify the $300-$500 for a name brand caller as I have to fit varmint hunting somewhere between moose season, 3 deer seasons, hockey, kids archery, and my potential court date for my divorce.

Spending too much time varmint hunting would turn that "potential" court date into a definite court date.

A small investment of about $30 did the trick for me, and best of all it works.

The previously mentioned Varmint Al webpage has plans for an electronic caller and excellent audio files which can be downloaded for free. Here my $10 caller solution. I downloaded the audio files from Varmint Al. Then I purchased a yard sale "boom box" which had both a CD player and cassette tape deck and will work on internal batteries. Problem solved, perhaps an external speaker would be louder, but they do not call them "boom" boxes for nothing. I hope this helps.

You can call just as many in with hand calls as an e-caller (FoxPro or Bandits). The e-caller are very nice, and require no practise but not neccesary to fool a yote :) Don't waste your money on a cheap e-caller they dont have the range or volume.

Cheer!!
