I am new to IPSC and noticed that most of the shooters are using electronic ear protection. Which brand would you recommend and why? What is the resonable price? Where one can get it?

Thanks for your help.

i use the ones listed on this web page,

they work well, its nice to beable to hear ppl talk around you, and no need to yell

MSA Sordin from SRS Tactical. Single best ever. Expensive but worth every penny.

yeah definite +2 on the double ears indoors. I work around loud banging and the constant drone of hydraulic motors. Can't stand shooting indoors without plugs and muffs.

I don't use the electronic sets at all, and I also double plug, even outdoors.

I actually notice the additional weight that the batteries and electronics add to the weight of the earmuff. I also don't want to hear anything that could be distracting when I'm shooting. Of course, I take my earmuffs off when I'm not actively on the line.

but you only weight like 125lbs soaking wet, so I understand why the batteries would be noticeable.................. :D

Actually that is why I use electronic muffs - I can't count the times I have lifted my muffs to talk to someone and been blasted as the competitor starts shooting. I want the best quality muffs I can find so I basicly put them on an leave them on :) AND....the Sordins I chose are very light so even pencil necks should have enough musculature to support the weight :nest: Lol

I use the silencio plugs usually (they have the internal baffle)...but for OPen guns I use the electronic muffs.

After the discomfort I experienced with my old hearing protectors durring double qualifier last spring I bought Sordins with the gel cups. Why did I wait so long those Sordins are the most comfortable muffs I have ever used.

I'm also curious about the Supreme Pro-X vs the Supreme Pro III+. Is the extra 3 NRR worth it if you're going to be double plugging indoors anyways?
