Just went ahead and ordered the Pro-X. They have a thinner profile which should dovetail nicely with my thicker personal profile.

It was an option to have either foam or gel. Gel cost extra but I hate the regular foam pads so I got them.

+3. I use Howard Leight electronic muffs over Surefire EarPro EP4 Sonic Defenders when indoors. I only use EP4 when shooting outdoors.

i picked up some howard leight electronic ones for 50 bucks shipped on ebay. Great deal for a decent set

After the discomfort I experienced with my old hearing protectors durring double qualifier last spring I bought Sordins with the gel cups. Why did I wait so long those Sordins are the most comfortable muffs I have ever used.

Between you and John I have a pair coming one way and $350+ going the other. I tried yours last year and should have bought them last fall.

I use the Supreme Pro X with gel cups. as I've said time and time again, best hearing protection on the market. I shoot most of the time on an indoor range, and I don't double up either. Once I get some custom molded hearing protection I will, most likely, but I don't notice any issues with just running the Sordins. But also have some hearing loss from years ago, so that might be why.
