I know, I almost felt like laughing when I read that part.
The situation with his firearm was amusing too. Who goes on a hunt like that? :rolleyes:
 
Nothing like being a moron to shorten your life. "X" deserved what he got, but at least his stupidity didn't get any one else killed

No need for a new thread, I though in a previous post it was established that the Flare Gun should be the defense weapon of choice :p

Is it just me or do you get the sense that Sgt. California may not be the top notch guide his buddy says he is. California, didn't check to make sure the guy had the right bullets or have his gun fully loaded, didn't appear to clearly explain how the hunt would be handled and that elephants are dangerous (especially when you knock them out and try to steal there babies), didn't have a back up gun for when the client gets into trouble and then gets gored by an elephant a few months later. I like how the story ends with this:

"Not many months later Sgt. California, ever cheerful and dedicated, had a young elephant bull gore him. He was once more guiding a hunter. Having tracked the elephant, Sgt. California, totally unarmed took the hunter in close. The elephant turned towards them and a mock charge became more serious. By the time Sgt. California realised things were serious and turned to run, the elephant was on to him. It put a tusk through his lower stomach that exited his back alongside his spine."

For all the trajectory experts out there, how did the tusk exit his back if he was running away??? And is it really a Mock charge if he got gored?? Finally, I think he must have been a gun fearing lieberal since he seemed to prefer being unarmed, its only the wilds of Africa afterall, what would he need a gun for :rolleyes: .
