Elevation knob backwards?

Well I mounted a new vx2 I was sighting it in today and after some figuring the elevation knob appears backwards up is down, down is up. Is this common with leupolds

No, but are you sure your doing it right? The direction marked up should move the point of impact up. Not the crosshairs.

yup i was confused the scope is doing exactly what its ment to do. thanks for the info Uisge you made me think

I did have that happen once with Swiss Products K31 irons...the sticker image for U> got reversed in the printer to <U.
That was a fun day at the range...

Your brain intrinsically knows that if your POI is low, you need to deflect the reticle *down* to align the two...but of course most manufacturers pretend we are magically shifting the actual POI "up" with scope adjustment to achieve the alignment. You aren't the first to make this mistake and I guarantee you won't be the last.
