I noticed they are having a sale on Eley products, everything from Contact to Tenex, for those that were looking to buy. I don't know what stock levels or availability are like.

For how long?

It doesn't day or Im not looking hard enough. I'd be more concerned with when they sell out first I'm trying to convince myself I am a good enough shot to justify the price lol! Its a 25% discount, and sometimes on sunday a free ship promo pops up. But when you spend over $99 its free ship anyways.

The flat nose is sold out, but you can still back order it on the sale price. Took me three months to get some 9mm I had back ordered just FYI. Also, they dont charge your card till it ships, which can be a bit of a shock if you are forgetful like me!

Free shipping does not apply to ammo with cabelas

This was my order summary for ammo

I just tried adding $99 + , and the promo code, it works. I'm going to give the .22 Club a shot.

Tried some and it does not run well in either my wife's Nylon 66 nor in my High Standard. One misfeed in 5 shots on average in the nylon; slightly less often in the HS. Hope you have better luck.

Thanks for that info. My first thought was going to be for bolt action only. My finger has this strange tendency to spasm in a rapid back and forth motion when it comes into contact with the trigger of a semi-auto. This would be expensive side effect of using this ammo, lol.

There's little need to use Eley in a Nylon 66. High Standard pistols should work reliably with standard velocity ammo; in fact the HS gurus over on RFC say that, for longer life and to avoid a cracked frame, only SV ammo should be used in the pistols.

The Cabela's price for Eley is good if you are interested in smaller quantities and if the shipping is free.

I can confirm that the ammunition shipping is not free! Checked my CC statement and they planned to charge me $87.55 to ship 10 boxes of .22lr... Safe to say I called and got them to change that to a "ship to store" to avoid the additional charge...

Not to hijack the thread, but which one would you recommend to start out bench-rest (shooting from a bench) at 50 yards progressing to 100 yards. I have a CZ 452 on its way. Or should I get a selection.

Yes, start out at 50 and get a selection of ammo to try. Take the best candidates to 100 yards. Sometimes, what shoots best at 50 yards does not shoot best at 100 yards. Barrel harmonics. SK and Lapua ammo have been the best performers for me so far out of several rifles, Cabelas does not offer them at this time. RWS R-100 came in 3rd for one rifle. Eley actually puts out the best chronograph numbers, but just doesn't seem to be in "tune" with any of my current rifles.

Just went and checked the website.

I do not believe the free shipping applies to ammo.

Will be near the Ottawa store on April 3, but I suppose the sale and in store stock will be long gone by then.

CD

They are already out of several types... Still had lots of green orange and red box though.
