I've been shooting Eley Match with a muzzle velocity of 1078 fps. for the past year but haven't really been happy with the results. I recently tried some more with velocities of 1056, 1060, 1062 and 1063 fps. I removed the tuner from my rifle and shot 10 5 shot groups of each ammo then measured the groups and found the average group size for each type. The 1056 fps proved to shoot the tightest groups so I ordered a case (I might have to order a couple more cases of the same lot #). Today I replaced the tuner and went to the range again to shoot with the 1056 ammo, after adjusting the tuner this was what I ended up with :)

The rifle btw is an Anschutz 54 Match action, Llilja 26" barrel, Harrell tuner, Leupold Competition 45X scope and a McMillan benchrest stock, all shot from a custom one piece rest.

That is very fine shooting and reflects what My Suhl does with a lot of Eley Black Match EPS at 1059 fps.
It is very gratifying when it all comes together, isn't it?

I shot 5-10 shot groups at 50 M on a nice, very calm morning.
The average for the 5 groups is .125" [The smallest was .090"]

I also have a Harrel's tuner, similar to yours, but am still using the Suhl barrel.
Jim Williams originally prepped this rifle for Rimfire BR, and he did a great job.

I have a 40X Remington that loves this lot as well.
Wonder how they would do with the 1056 fps stuff you are using?

Sweet setup!

I like that custom rest. Bare machined aluminum looks hardcore as hell!

Congrats on that group too.

Some very impressive shooting.I think many people have no idea how difficult it is getting that sort of performance from a 22. I have seen several occasions where black box out-performed Tenex. You have a good supply of that batch?:)

What's to think about? If you got the cash, buy as much as you can. Sometimes it's hard finding a lot that matches the rifle, so when you find one that does, stock up until it hurts! :)
