The elit sight on my CG match rifle is marked 830 m/sek, which if the conversion is correct, is in the ballpark of 2700 fps. Seems a little warm for the action. Any insights?

Norma Match Ammo. Should be close with m/41 139 grain military (spitzer type pointed bullet) but the yardages will be off if you use the older m/94 160 grain round nosed military ammo. Reloads are a whole different ball game.

As with all sights, you have to initially zero the Elit sight for a 100 or 200 yard zero using the appropriate mark. This takes a special tool to change the setting to make the sight zero at certain ranges. Do not count on your sight being already zeroed, as factors such as eyesight, holding, ammo, etc. will throw any calibration with the range mark out the window. Best is to fire at certain known distance ranges, and note the sight settings for that distance when you are hitting in the center of the target.

It also depends upon the height of your front sights too. Many Swedish shooters preferred the Elit or Pramm sights, and a different front sight. They zeroed the rear sight so that the Range markings coincided with the center of impact, using the adjustment tool.

The range dials are interchangeable. There are three different dials available, but are scarce. If you have an Elit front sight, there are two different types of those, and the apertures vary.
