Elite 4200...Didn't realize what I was missing

I just picked up Elite 4200 6x24x50 w/ 30mm tube, no long distance tests or real world yet to speak of but the features and clarity compared to 6x18x40 Leupold vx-II, simply sold me on it. Price was identical.

Hey, where did you buy that? Who had that model in stock. PD didn't have that one is stock yet, that I could see, I didn't ask.

Wow... quite a smell of urine on this posting, from all the pissing contests going on.

How about we all concur that we get what we pay for? My first scope purchase has been a Bushnell 3200 Elite 10x40, at $200. Seemingly good scope, very clear, mil-dots, and short eye relief. Now I am no expert, but can you really compare this scope to scopes that are three times as much? My favourite scopes when I was looking were the Kahles scopes. Unbelievably better than my Bushnell in every way. But it better be, as it cost around $2000, or TEN times the Bushnell. Is a Ferrari better than my Mazda? Of course, and they do the exact same thing for 80% of the time. Just the Ferrari is better for the other 20%. Same for the scopes, I'm sure I will get a lot of good use from the 3200 Elite, but if I could spare the money, I would have bought the Kahles hands down...

Great analogy IchBinEinSniper, its true. I could not afford it but saved up my penny's and bit the bullet to purchase a Kahles C seies and WOW. In the grand scheme of things the cost of hunting 1000 to 1500 is not alot of money to spend on a scope, just dont tell the wife! I sure didnt:D

PS the bill for the scope is still burning my arse

Just got a smoking good deal on a 1.5 - 6 X 36 Bushnell Elite 4200....wow what a bright incredibly clear scope.....

I think my days with Leupold are done..........

Nobody has said it yet, but I am happy you like your new scope. It's nice to see somebody satisfied.:)

I've been a member here for a bit and when I see the kind of posts I've read here I wonder why I bother??? Oh yea it's to learn and share with cool people. I think??

coltfan was just expressing his enthusiasm and see where it lead :(

I just picked up a 4200 6x24x50 from Epps for $759. Love it. My last scope was a 3200 6x24x40 but two problems, the set screw on the windage came lose during a match (my fault for not checking it) and the reticle became detached. I have yet to take it back to Bushnell, but from what I understand if I am nice about it, they may just hand me a new one...

After 50mm objective I'll never go back to 40mm. That critical time at dusk, the 50 makes all the difference.
